ABL Business Ltd  joins the UK’s #GivingTuesday movement to boost giving

Giving Tuesday

ABL Business Ltd  has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving, which encourages people and businesses to give their time, money or voice to charity for one day.#GivingTuesday – December 2, 2014 – will provide a charitable antidote to the pre-Christmas consumer boom, falling directly after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It will ask people to follow two of the big pre-Christmas shopping days with a day of doing good, asking them to do one simple charitable act on the day and it is hoped that #GivingTuesday in the UK will replicate the
successes of the US, where they have seen a huge spike in donations on the day.

ABL Business Ltd joined #GivingTuesday to raise awareness and provide additional exposure for the not-for-profit they already support; Stanley’s Training Project.  In addition to the pro-bono support we will also be ‘Donating our dinner money’ to Stanley’s and asking others to do so as well!

“We are active users of social media for ourselves and our customers; we also utilise crowd funding methods when raising finance. when we heard about #GivingTuesday we couldn’t thinking of a better way to raise awareness and increase support for UK based charitable organisations. If your not involved then get involved and give more this Christmas.”  Alex Beardsley, Director ABL Business Ltd.

#GivingTuesday in the UK is led by the Charities Aid Foundation, with support from Blackbaud. Leaders from businesses, charities and the media have joined them to explore how they can boost donations to charity and volunteering and create a giving movement in the UK.

About #GivingTuesday #GivingTuesday is a movement to celebrate and encourage giving. It will culminate with a global day of giving on December 2, 2014 following on from Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Black Friday is one of the peak high street shopping days, while Cyber Monday is consistently the peak online shopping day -following everyone’s last paycheck before Christmas. This effort will aim to transform how people think about giving and to create a spike in donations on the day along with boosting sign-ups to longer term giving and volunteering. #GivingTuesday uses social media to create a global moment that is dedicated to putting the
spotlight on giving around the world.
